Static seal
Static seals mainly include three types: pad seal, sealant seal and direct contact seal. According to the working pressure, the static seal can be divided into a medium-low pressure static seal and a high-pressure static seal. The medium and low pressure static seals are generally made of a softer and wider gasket, while the high pressure static seals are made of a metal gasket with a narrow contact width.
Dynamic seal
Dynamic seals can be divided into two basic types: rotary seals and reciprocating seals.
other
According to whether the seals are in contact with the parts that move relative to each other, they can be divided into contact seals and non-contact seals; according to the seals and contact positions, they can be divided into circumferential seals and end seals, and end seals are also called mechanical seals. The centrifugal seal and the spiral seal in the dynamic seal are sealed by the power of the medium when the machine is running, so it is sometimes called a dynamic seal.
Depending on the type of seal structure, sealing mechanism, seal shape and material, etc., the seals can be classified according to Table 29.2-1.
