Several Common Rubber Sealing Rings
1.Silicone (SIL) rubber sealing ring
The characteristic of this kind of sealing ring is that it has good heat and cold resistance, and can be used stably in some places with high temperature, and it also has
excellent corrosion resistance and insulation. The sealing rubber ring is often used in household appliances such as electric water heaters and microwave ovens, water bottles and water dispensers, etc.
2.Natural Rubber (NR) sealing ring
This kind of sealing ring is very elastic resistant to being pulled, but it can only work at the highest temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, and it is easy to become sticky when it is heated. This seal ring is easy to dissolve in some organic solvents (such as gasoline, mineral oil, etc.), but it can work stably in some organic solvents, such as automobile lubricating oil, ethanol, etc.
3.Nitrile rubber (NBR) sealing ring
Nitrile rubber applies to a range of temperature from -40℃ to 120℃. It is used for making “O” ring, oil seal, and suitable for general hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This sealing ring costs the least, and it is one of the most widely seals at present. It is very suitable to be used in gasoline, petroleum, glycol and other media, but not suitable for organic phosphate series hydraulic oil and gear oil containing polar additives.
4.Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber sealing ring
This sealing ring’s ozone resistance and chemical resistance are very good. It is often used in ketones, alcohol and other liquids, and has a excellent performance in very high temperature. Also, it can be used in the high temperature water environment, such as our life essential sanitary equipment — the water heater has used this type of sealing ring. In addition, this sealing ring can also be used in food industry and automotive cleaning equipment.
